Nick is a strange bird that likes to fly and dance. Kinda like an osprey with the legs of an old Italian man. As an adaptable, color-shifting, curious artist, he is inspired by nature, the universe, music and entire color and pattern spectrums. He is endlessly inspired by the many people he meets. Nick has explored many art forms and distinct mediums, from being classically trained as a painter, photographer, sculptor, and educator, to being involved with event production, museum, and gallery installations. Nick enjoys a good party. Since 2010, Nick has meshed these experiences into creating tattoos with some rad people. Nick believes it is equally as important to receive a good tattoo as it is to create a fun and welcoming environment, where both client and artist can excel together! In the future these environments could be on the tops of mountains, at music festivals, and in other select locations.
I have worked with some great artists, and have traveled to some wonderful conventions over the years. I am increasingly interested in the ancient theories and archaeological finds that further explore the narrative of tattooing as an important part of holistic healing, and identity creation for cultures around the world. I look forward to exploring some of these sites in person someday. Tattoo history is much older than your great grandpa's badass pinup tattoo! When we take a bit of ancient history, blend it with a dash of new science, and spread it over a layer of collaborative magic, we can create truly unique and individualized tattoos and experiences.
Let's get nerdy and keep it a little weird. I hope you'll find your experience at The Factory Tattoo comfortable, memorable, colorful, and impactful. I'm thankful everyday that I get to work with such cool people from all over the world.
Nick would love to do every tattoo but understands there are other artists that may be better suited for your projects. For this reason Nick prefers to meet new clients for face to face consultations to go over all the nitty gritty stuff. There are times when a consultation is not required or not possible. Either way, Nick will do his best to either make a rad tattoo you'll be stoked to wear forever, or introduce you to another artist that may be better suited to your style. If we decide to move forward and schedule a tattoo appointment, we will require a non refundable deposit that goes towards the final price of your tattoo.
Designing tattoos is a collaborative process, and once we determine a final stencil, sized and ready to tattoo, the artist can be better suited to discuss pricing ranges. Nick’s hourly rate is $200 an hour and typically each artist works out their own rates, so please consult with them specifically. If you have a specific budget, keep in mind it is not uncommon to schedule two or more sessions to finish larger pieces. Everybody sits for tattoos differently and here at The Factory Tattoo we want to be sure your experience is fun, safe, and as comfy as possible. We are mindful of your specific circumstances and are aware of different techniques and ideas that may help you get through some challenging sessions. We will guide you the best we can through the process and answer any questions along the way as they arise. If you've made it this far, that's pretty amazing…thanks for existing. Send that Contact email and let’s get in touch.

GET EXCITED! It’s almost tattoo day! Be careful not to get sunburn, razor burn, scrapes, or scratches in the area you expect to get tattooed. Take care of your body by hydrating your skin with lotion, eating a healthy diet, and drinking plenty of water.
We all have daily rituals: coffee, yoga, news, kids to school etc, and we all develop our own methods around how we earn tattoos. Some things that may help are wearing comfortable clothes that will not be in the way of the location of your tattoo. Fuck it bring those slippers and pajama pants.
Water. You need it.
Snacks. You want them.
Emotional support human (Sorry. No dogs. Health Department Rules.)
Excitement and openness to the process.
Your artist will guide you through the rest. But don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you may have.
We truly believe that when you earn and begin healing your tattoo intentionally and thoughtfully, there is a spiritual and physical change to your being. You can become a better version of yourself. That’s correct folks…that astronaut kitty tattoo can make you a better person.
Day 1-3: Typically Tegaderm or similar second skin is applied. You may leave this on for 2-3 Days and skip to “Day 4”. If bandage or plastic wrap was applied you will want to leave this wrap on until you are able to shower and wash your tattoo with fragrance free soap and water with just your fingertips. Do not use washcloths or sponges. After showering, pat your tattoo dry with a clean paper towel. Allow the tattoo to air dry for 10-15 minutes before applying new plastic wrap. Do NOT apply ointment or lotion to tattoo. Ensure that the entire tattoo is covered with plastic wrap. You may sleep with your tattoo covered but you may get some weeping from the wound. Don’t use the nice sheets.
Remove the plastic wrap when you wake up. Wash your tattoo with fragrance free soap and water with just your fingertips. Rinse well, then pat dry with a clean paper towel. Allow your tattoo to air dry for 10-15 minutes before applying new plastic wrap. Do NOT apply ointment or lotion to tattoo at this point. Clean and rewrap your tattoo 2-3 times daily.
Day 4 and on: Stop wrapping your tattoo. At four to seven days into the healing period, the skin around and on the tattoo will start to peel like a sunburn.
Clean your tattoo with soap and water, pat dry with a clean paper towel and apply a gentle lotion that your skin will absorb. Repeat this process 2-5 times daily until fully healed. Do not pick the skin or scratch as it will damage the tattoo.
Day 7- 10: The skin should have peeled away and left shiny, wrinkly new skin. During the full 2 week healing period, avoid hot tubs, swimming pools, and lake or ocean water. They harbor bacteria that can cause an infection. Do not soak your tattoo and avoid exposure to running water for longer than 5-10 minutes
Day 14 and on: The tattoo should look like it's healed, though it wil take a full 45 days for the skin to completely regenerate itself. Continue to lotion the skin 3-5 times daily until the new skin is completely regenerated. For the best appearance of any tattoo, lotion daily. If you have any questions during healing please stop into the studio or call us: 518-810-9096 The Factory.
Continuing to use lotion and sunscreen will keep your tattoo looking fresh and clean for many years to come
